Mr Bracks was Victoria’s 44th Premier, serving for eight years and won three consecutive elections in 1999, 2002 and 2006. During his time in Victorian parliament Mr Bracks was noted for leading a Labor government that rebuilt the State’s Health and Education systems, restored integrity and independence to the State’s democratic institutions, and ensuring economic growth flowed to the whole State including regional and rural Victoria.
He retired as Premier of Victoria in 2007 and since then has continued to lead an active public and professional life holding many business and community leadership positions in superannuation, education, sport and infrastructure.
Proudly of Lebanese descent, Mr Bracks is also a fierce advocate for multiculturalism and Aboriginal reconciliation.

"Through my role on the Board, I am pleased to be playing an active role in advocating for the rights of working Australians."
Mr Bracks has extensive experience as a Board director - Mr Bracks was Chairman of Cycling Australia until mid-2018; is current Chair of McKell Institute Victoria; and Chair of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) Trust. He advises several leading Australian finance and service sector corporations, is Honorary Chair of the Union Education Foundation and the Chancellor of Victoria University.
He is also a member of the Monash Business School Business Advisory Board (BAB); the Australian Republican Movement’s Republican Advisory Panel (RAP); and, the West of Melbourne Economic Development Alliance (WoMEDA).
