Cyndel graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Laws and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 2006, and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia in 2007. Cyndel was a lawyer for seven years with a large general practice law firm in her home town of Mackay, before joining Maurice Blackburn in 2014, to pursue compensation law for everyday Australians.

“I was inspired to practice law by seeing friends and family struggling in difficult situations, needing someone on their side to help them achieve justice. This compelled me to pursue a profession as a lawyer, which would allow me to assist others in similar situations, fighting for disadvantaged and unfairly treated people,” says Cyndel.

Cyndel has significant experience across multiple areas of law including commercial, employment and extensive experience in compensation legal matters. She is a skilled and effective negotiator, driven to achieve the best results for her clients; as well as a highly capable litigator, having successfully appeared before courts and tribunals in numerous matters. Critically, she is also a highly engaged and empathic lawyer who understands the impact that legal matters can have on her client’s personal, financial and family situation. She strives to achieve the most favourable outcome for each and every client.

“One of the most rewarding parts of my job is the opportunity for me to make a difference, by standing up for people who aren’t getting a fair go. Whether this is by getting their insurance claim accepted, litigating to the full extent to ensure they receive their entitlements, making sure that the costs of their treatment are covered, or achieving significant compensation for their situation.”

Cyndel can discuss her area of law in more detail if you contact her directly.
