Tamara holds a Bachelor of Laws from Charles Darwin University, a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the Australian National University and a Bachelor of Nursing from Ballarat University. She was admitted to practice law in early 2016.
Tamara has 15 years nursing experience in Victoria and QLD. But it was her work on a neurosurgical, ear nose and throat and maxillofacial ward that opened her eyes to the devastating impacts personal injuries have on people’s life, including the physical and psychological aspects, as well as the impacts on an injured person’s family and friends.
“I saw first-hand the impact that trauma has on people and the agonizing road to recovery. This is what inspired me to become a lawyer so that I could assist people beyond their recovery to access their entitlements at law,” says Tamara.
Prior to joining Maurice Blackburn in early 2019, Tamara worked for another firm and she also has an in-depth understanding of the TAC system having worked as a TAC support officer for three years.
“I am driven to make sure that my clients understand their rights and entitlements,” she says.
“Everyday I am inspired by the positive attitude and tenacity of my clients. Even when confronting un-sympathetic Insurers or difficult to navigate legislative schemes, people are driven to continue fighting and make the best of their situation.”
