Public place injury, Work injury
LLB, BA (Psychology)
Phillip has appeared in a number of courts including the Magistrates Court of WA, the District Court of WA, WorkCover WA, the Supreme Court of WA and the Supreme Court-Court of Appeal.
“For many people their exposure to the law is minimal. However, when they are injured they are suddenly thrust into legal systems with jargon, time limits, legislation, processes and rules. The legal system is complex and technical. Yet people with little to no exposure at all are expected to navigate it and take on insurers and other powerful entities just to access benefits they are entitled to. Many of these people have been injured by no fault of their own and have been put in a terrible position where they fear for their finances, their families and their future,” says Phillip.
“As a lawyer, I am privileged that I have the knowledge of the systems and that I can share my knowledge to help my clients get what they deserve. I can act as their voice. I can act as their guide. I can get their story out. I can help get my clients an outcome where they feel that they have got some sort of justice or fair compensation.”
Phillip takes great satisfaction in achieving good outcomes for his clients, and the fact that his involvement in their lives has changed their situation for the better.
