Melissa Meyers

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Melissa worked as an academic researcher in the social sciences and as a social worker/counsellor. She has also worked for the Adult Guardian in Queensland and has considerable experience in mental health and disability.  

After being admitted as a lawyer in 2009, Melissa spent much of her legal career in Central Queensland, before moving to the Northern Territory in 2018 to lead the Maurice Blackburn team in Darwin. She has practised exclusively in personal injuries, in particular catastrophic injuries, death claims and psychological injuries, for over a decade.  

Melissa is now based in Brisbane and leads a team of highly skilled lawyers who specialise in medical negligence claims for clients across Queensland and the Northern Territory.

Melissa is driven by the desire to help clients through the difficult process of a claim and to achieve the best possible outcome.

In her spare time Melissa is an avid snow-skier, despite living in Queensland!
