"I am motivated by the capacity of class actions to disrupt the power imbalance between everyday individuals and powerful defendants,” says Lorraine.

Lorraine is currently working on the motor dealer add-on insurance class actions. She has worked on several successful class actions, including:

• NSW junior doctors class action, brought about on behalf of junior doctors against NSW Health for allegedly unpaid entitlements. The case settled for $229.8 million in 2024, making it the highest settlement in an underpayment class action in Australian history.
• Grand Western Lodge class action, which achieved more than $4 million in compensation for 50 people with disabilities who were allegedly assaulted, falsely imprisoned or suffered financial losses while they were residents of a licensed boarding house.
• Shareholder class actions against CIMIC Group, Crown Resorts Limited and Treasury Wine Estates.

Lorraine has also worked on several Social Justice Practice matters and has assisted in advising Greenpeace Australia Pacific Limited. Before the law, Lorraine had an NGO sector background and volunteered with grassroots organisations.
