Lorenzo McMiken

Prior to working at Maurice Blackburn, Lorenzo worked at the ACT Youth Law Clinic and helped young people navigate the legal system when issues arose in their housing, employment or visa arrangements. He now brings his passion for helping others to Maurice Blackburn’s class action practice.

“I am passionate about the idea that the law is for everyone, not just the powerful in our society. Class actions are an important legal tool for everyday people because they hold large institutions to account. They place the individual on an equal footing to corporations and governments and make these institutions responsible for the harm they cause through their misconduct. I find my work at Maurice Blackburn fulfilling, because we are helping people access the legal system and obtain compensation against entities more powerful than themselves,” says Lorenzo.

Lorenzo’s commitment to building a fairer society through the law has led to him be involved in the Trade Union movement and other progressive groups advocating for the rights of our clients.
