Josh Hunt

Josh holds a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Biomedical Science and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. He was admitted to practice in 2016.

Josh first joined Maurice Blackburn as a paralegal in 2015, then left to complete a legal internship at Google, before rejoining Maurice Blackburn in our class actions team in mid-2016.

Josh is empathetic, curious, driven and analytical, which are great qualities for someone who is passionate about solving problems and has a strong moral compass.

“I believe that class actions are an important part of the socio-legal environment and play a critical role in providing access to justice, resolving important issues such as corporate misconduct and ensuring accountability to all,” says Josh.

“I am grounded by a core belief of fairness and equality for all members of our community and I understand the importance of using my abilities in the law to help others.

“Class actions serve several purposes – not only do they provide a voice for those who may otherwise be unable to take on well-resourced defendants but they also play an important role in enforcing current and future standards of legal and ethical conduct.

“I am fuelled by a desire to tackle and overcome technical, challenging issues in an innovative fashion. At Maurice Blackburn, we often take risks and pursue significant and important cases to achieve great outcomes for our clients and the broader community.”

Outside of work, Josh takes a keen interest in the next generation. He was involved with the Reach Foundation as a youth worker for several years, providing tools and skills for teenagers to understand themselves and break down barriers.
