Ian Bailey

Ian's skills in occupational diseases have been recognised by international legal directory, Chambers & Partners, and he has for many years been accredited as a Band 1 practitioner.

Ian has led significant specialist asbestos disease teams in the UK in two major cities, representing hundreds of clients each year. During this time, he regularly presented on legal issues to both other lawyers and medical professionals.

Once described in Chambers & Partners as a "hard-line but sensible negotiator," this is how he would wish to be remembered in his career.

Ian comes from a family who have been involved in the coal mining industry for many generations.

"I am driven by a strong desire to achieve justice for working people, ensuring that their disease, caused by the negligence of others, is properly compensated in so far as the law permits. I adopt a straight-talking approach when acting for my clients," says Ian.

Ian relocated to Australia in 2023 and is committed to using his past experiences to benefit his clients.

He has a strong interest in politics, current events and travel. He enjoys language learning. He has a love of football (also known as soccer) which he will never let go.
